No. The Festival is licensed to sell alcohol and provides great, well-stocked bars. Please don’t attempt to bring any banned items into the Festival as all bags are searched on arrival and items will be confiscated and will not be returned.
Sorry guys shoe wear is necessary - thongs and sandals are fine but you may want to consider your toes and enclosed footwear as it is a long day.
Yes, the Festival is strictly an over 18's event. Anyone who fails to present valid photo ID (current driver’s license or passport) upon entry to the Festival will not be allowed into the Festival. No refunds will be processed for patrons who are denied entry due to not having valid identification for admittance.
St Jerome's Laneway Festival is a fully licensed event so, like many fully licensed venues, we are unable to accommodate people under the age of 18. We apologise to those of you under 18 who miss out as a result of this but we look forward to seeing you in a few years.

There are no Pass Outs on the day so if you choose to leave the Festival at any point, you will not be admitted back in. There will be more than enough food, drinks, amenities and - of course - music to keep going all day inside the Festival.
The main gates open at 11.30am and the festival will finish at 11.00pm.
The Festival will go ahead rain, hail or snow...
No! There are no ATMs at the Sydney Festival however each bar will have cash-out facilities. We highly recommend coming with enough cash to get you through the day.
Found: please take any found items to Festival staff.
Lost: if you misplace something please check with gate staff on the day as things will be turned in there. Alternatively, please email info@lanewayfestival.com.au and we will do our very best to help you.

You can only bring water if it’s in a sealed plastic bottle. No glass or cans will be allowed.
No professional cameras (read: cameras with detachable lenses) are permitted without formal media accreditation. Likewise no audio or film recording equipment can be brought into the Festival.

Laneway Festival has to comply with various Australian venue, police and liquor licensing requirements. As an over 18 event, you must produce valid ID to enter.
There are only certain forms of ID that will be accepted by the Laneway Festival:

4. current Victorian Keypass Card

Laneway Festival cannot accept as proof of age:
- overseas driver’s licence
- student ID card
- public transport card or bus pass
- birth certificate
- household bills, bank account statements, letter from your mum or anything else that is not listed as an Acceptable Photo ID above.

Bus numbers 500, 501, 504, 506, 507, 510, 515, 518, and 520 leave from Circular Quay in the city, turn at the Queen Victoria Building and travel across the Anzac Bridge to Victoria Road (except for the 501) and stop on Victoria Road, Rozelle just 1 kilometere from the campus. The 501 travels via Harris Street, past the Powerhouse Museum and the Sydney Fish Markets.
Bus number 440 also leaves from Circular Quay in the city and travels via travels along Parramatta Road past the main University campus, then along Balmain Road
Bus numbers 440 and 445 travel along Balmain Road. These buses terminate at the Ferry Wharf. Ferries to Circular Quay in the City leave from this wharf.
Lilyfield Light Rail Station is about 1.5 kilometres from the campus and provides light rail transport to Sydney Exhibition Centre, Sydney Convention Centre and other facilities in Darling Harbour and on to Central Railway Station.
